Who we are

Welcome to St Thomas’.  We are a friendly, traditional church and we’ve been serving the community of Noak Hill and beyond for 175 years. We are part of the Church of England, within the parish of St Paul’s, Harold Hill. We meet every week and welcome visitors as well as those thinking about joining the church. You are warmly invited to join us!

What we believe

  • We are a Christian church. We believe in God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God has made himself known supremely by sending his Son, Jesus Christ. Through faith in Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can know God personally.
  • We are an evangelical church. We believe that God inspired the writers of the Bible so that the Bible’s words are God’s words. The Bible is our final authority on what we know about God and how we should live.
  • We are an Anglican church. We rejoice to be part of the rich heritage and tradition of the Church of England. Like its founders in the 16th century, we believe that we can only be made right with God by his grace alone, through Jesus Christ. But it is faith in Jesus Christ that unites us, not allegiance to a particular denomination, so everyone is welcome to join us regardless of whatever churches they have belonged to in the past.
